Just wondering if anyone knew of any online chromatic blues resources besides Dr Gussow and Jason's YT vids. Thanks.

There's a thread on slidemeister on blues in E using a C chrom--Winslow posted a really nice sound file. There is also this thread http://www.slidemeister.com/forums/index.php?topic=7054.0 that deals with blues on the chrom.

Here is a link to a good chromatic resource, though it is not a tutorial, and not specific to blues chromatic:

what is a good, INEXPENSIVE chrome in G to buy. i stress inexpensive (not cheap), because i'm just getting started with chromes and may only use it for a couple of songs to play in 3rd position.

I like the Suzuki SCX-48, it comes in G. It's not cheap tho, less than a CX-12 but more than a Swan or something. Hohner has a new chrom, called the Discovery, but I don't think it comes in G. The 260 comes in G, that's a nice ten hole chrom--but for blues, ten holes might not be enough. I don't know of any harp manufacturer who makes a 16 hole in G.

The 12-hole size is where you find chromatics in the most keys.
A Hohner 270 in G will run about $175-ish, while a Suzuki SCX-48 in G will cost about the same.
You may find Chinese brands such as Swan for considerably less, often under $100 - if you can find one in G. These harmonicas tend to be less robust in both sound and construction, though. ---------- Winslow

Thank you all so much, those links are really helpful. Frank, what I guess I'm looking for is something in the "just beyond absolute beginner" area. Still focusing on 3rd position, though a lot of these resources make me think that stretching out into others might not be as difficult as I thought.
