I just finished reading JTThirty's crime novel, River Bottom Blues. I didn't bother putting OT in the subject line because it's really all about blues music and blues harmonica players, it was written by a blues harmonica player who is a member of this forum, and it was clearly written with our little demographic in mind.
It was a great read! Well constructed and paced, good character development, entertaining. Pick up a copy! You might even find an oblique reference to yourself in there.

Wow, Dave. Many thanks for the kind words. AND yes, I absolutely targeted my blues harp brethren as my main audience. Many an agent turned me down because of what they termed such a "small niche", but by golly it's my niche. ---------- Ricky B http://www.bushdogblues.blogspot.com RIVER BOTTOM BLUES--crime novel for blues fans at Amazon, Barking Rain Press & the blog THE DEVIL'S BLUES--coming Fall of 2012

Just placed my order for an autographed copy. I'm a crime novel junkie and the mixture of blues/harmonica/murder is bound to make for a great read! Keep em coming Ricky!

Thanks for the order, Hickory! A sign copy is on your way. AND yeah, I've got plans to keep 'em coming. My same blues harp playing protagonists, Mitty Andersen and Pete Bolden, will return in The Devil's Blues. I've also jumped into a third installment of the series. ---------- Ricky B http://www.bushdogblues.blogspot.com RIVER BOTTOM BLUES--crime novel for blues fans at Amazon, Barking Rain Press & the blog THE DEVIL'S BLUES--coming Fall of 2012

Just finished reading our own Ricky Bush's crime novel "River Bottom Blues". If you haven't picked this up yet by all means do so! Very well written, excellent story line, and full of unforgettable characters that make it hard to put the book down. Easily as good as any of the stuff I've read from James Patterson. Can't wait for the next installment to see what Mitty, Pete, and the gang will get into next.
Also kudos to Barking Rain Press for giving Ricky a voice in a world where 80% of the books published in the US are controlled by only 6 media conglomerates.
