Yesterday saturday night Bruce Springsteen played an open air concert in Hyde Park London.
At the end of the 3 hour gig Bruce introduced Sir Paul Macartney for, in his words, 'I have been waiting 50 years for this' a last number.
10.30 pm they got into 'twist and shout' and the f******
jobs worth pulled the plug mid-song!!!
Outrageous and shocking; what has this world come to...

Yup. Them Hyde Park shows are about a million miles from The days The Stones and Blind Faith played in front of half a million people for free.
I went in 2010 to see Stevie Wonder. We got priority through the turnstiles as I had a Vodafone mobile phone and they sponsored the show, got charged £10 for two bottles of beer which they took the caps off so I couldn't keep one for later and spent 6 hours being crushed to get a glimpse of the great man himself. We moved out to the back halfway through. It was too tiring.
The most annoying thing was that he played Glastonbury the following night and the gig was exactly the same. Running order, outfits, even the stage banter.
It was a great day and I got to see one of my heroes, but I've resolved that unless it's something really special, I won't be doing any of these big gigs again. Too orchestrated would be a good description.

All performers should refrain from playing Hyde Park, effective immediately.
