I just got home from the Dennis Gruenling/Doug Deming show. Man, that was one fantastic show. Dennis pulled out all the stops and played his butt off. His tone was off the charts!

If you get a chance to see this show, DO IT!

I agree...awesome show. I saw him in Hartford Ct.last month. His phrasing is very smooth and audible...his rhythm playing is complimentary to Doug's guitar on any given song and the solos are amazing...and as KingBiscuit noted...his tone. I saw a few local harp players in the house. Ryan Hartt was there and joined Dennis on stage for the closing song. Great band...Great show...great night

Doug + Dennis = Dynamite.

Saw them last night (7-11-2012) at The Court Street Grill in Pomeroy, OH. Kind of a juke joint in the middle of a small town near nowhere. 6 of us drove 1 1/2 hours to hear them.

It was almost a private concert from 8pm to 11pm. The max there was about 26, and at the end, there were about 17 of us.

Very tight band. Good musicianship from all 4 players. Very good endings to the tunes. Good dynamics.

About as good as it gets.

Saw them tonite at the Thunderbird,a blues club in Pittsburgh. Great band with really sweet dynamics. They took it down to almost a whisper at times. Dennis is as comfortable in 3rd as good players are in 2nd. He can really move around in 3rd. Lots of chromatic playing. He played one song in 1st that was unbelievable. I think he was mixing blues scale with major, but whatever he was doing,it wasn't typical 1st pos. playing.
