-I played through a vintage Masco Amp at church last night. Using my vintage shure bullet built by Greg H. Great warm tone was very impressive. With the volume up it gave every thing I wanted and never fed back once. Then the pastor offered to sell it. I would love a bargain but don't want to embarrass myself. He did not give a price but he also owns a music store. The amp looks in good condition. 5 watt with 6 inch Alnaco magnet speaker. He installed 3 New/Old stock tubes. 6V6-- 7F7-- 6X5GT (he's a guitar player). There is 2 jack inputs ( 1/4 ). Volume control gets loud and dirty. The Pastor always gives me great deals. Recently gave me a new rechargeable Crate Limo valued at $400.00. I don't want to make a stupid offer, but I have know idea where to start. Any help appreciated. P.S. I don't have pic. It does not look like Adam's 1952. All original blue shell.---------
And I Thank You !!

Consult Ebay for comps

You can't screw the Church. That's bad karma.

Start by identifying the amp.
But also, since the chap operates a music store, he should have a good idea of its worth. As he seems to be an honest fellow, there should be little risk in asking him how much he wants for it.

I paid $800 for mine. That's too much, but then again--I now own the amp for as long as I want to keep...her.

I'd say that $450-600 is entirely reasonable. Offer $500 and you'll probably get it.

well, you dont want to offer $500, then.
negotiations are like a dance.
they have an expected structure, or protocol, that should be followed.
just like christmas story, you dont jump right to the double dog dare you!

Okay, I'll start the bidding at $100.

I'll try that LR. He'll probably kick me out of the band, but I'll try it. Hope it works. This is a sweet amp.

Hope $100.00 was not to much to pay. Wow: What a great guy. I couldn't except. I paid $150.00 and was happy to do so. That amount let him purchase an amp he was looking at. Will be blowin the blues thru my Masco this Sat. nite !!!
