I had my first business transaction with Tom at the end of last week and all I can say is that it was a pleasure. He is so easy to deal with, provides great customer service and great product.
Last Thursday afternoon I saw Tom's ad on the "For Sale" thread for Big River's with 'aftermarket' combs. I noticed he had a couple of Low Eb's so I dropped him a quick email. It was quick alright...a couple of emails back and forth and my order was placed for one with a blue aluminum comb.
I get home Monday night and my new harp is sitting in the mailbox waiting for me. I now have 4 "Low" harps; Hohner 364 in "C", 2 Hohner Marine Bands (D and F) and now my Big River in Low Eb. The Big River is, by far, the best and easiest to play. There's been a lot of talk on the forum about the ability to bend notes on the low harmonica's, that it will take work, etc. and I have found that to be true...that is until I got my BR. I opened the package and was bending on the 4, 3, 2 and 1 draw by the time I got up the driveway.
Payday is Friday, Tom, so I'll be hitting you up again. I have my eyes on one of the "do-it-yourself" packages!

Bump the thumbs up to Tom. Thanks for fixing my crooked reed at HCH. I'm looking into getting a Big River or 2 from you in the next few days... if you have any. ---------- -- "The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles but to irrigate deserts" -- C.S. Lewis

Tom is a very kind person and makes some really cool combs and covers. I have some of Tom's aluminum combs that I like, and a purple acrylic.

I took Tom up on his offer of free harmonica skinz, and they were shipped promptly as promised. I got the Stars and Stripes design for a Marine Band harp. They were easy to apply and fit perfectly. I was somewhat concerned that they may affect playability, i.e., coefficient of friction and such, but after playing the dressed-up harp for a while, I find the concern was unwarranted. I can't tell the difference before and after from a playing perspective. Apparently the design possibilities are quite diverse. It's a nice little product.

all my marine bands and deluxes are covered with the skinz...not only do they look great but the vinyl covering will protect the cover plate finish indefinitely...pretty innovative fellaIMHO
