I'm a teacher in a Primary School (ages 4-11) and I've been asked to perform a song at our end of year concert, which is cool. Stupidly however I said I'd do a version of SBW Help Me with different lyrics to make it more school/teaching related. I've started the lyrics but I'm now at a bit of a loss. Any ideas would be great.

Here's what I've got so far.

You've got to help me,
I can't teach them by myself
You've got to help me,
I can't teach them all by myself.
If you don't teach them children
They're not going to learn by themselves

They won't write, can't even spell.
Can't count so dividing is hell.
Oh help these children
If we don't teach these children
They're going to go to school somewhere else

And that's all I've got. Not great I know, but it's meant to be a bit on the funny side. Any help would be great.

cheers
greg.

Just had a crack. Found it easier starting form scratch.

You’ve got to study
I can't do it all by myself
You got to study, pupils
I can't do it all by myself
You know if you don't study children
You’re going to do this year again
You may have to add
You may have to multiply
You may have to subtract
Or even divide by five
But you have to study kids
You know if you don't study children
You’re going to do this year again
When I read, read with me
When I talk, you listen to me
Oh scholars, I can't do it all by myself
You know if you don't study students
You’re going to do this year again
Help me, help me pupils
Bring my white board
Put on your thinking caps
Bring my white board
Put on your thinking caps
Kids I know the term is over
But I feel like a snap test

Do his version of the lyrics, please. And specially the part with:
You know if you don't study children
You’re going to do this year again

I'll do my best, chances are I'll fluff the words and revert to SBW lyrics :o)

If i can record it without any of the pupils being in shot I'll post it up
