I've had my custom mic from Greg Heumann about two months now. I have been meaning to write sooner but all I can say is that I absolutely love this mic. It not only looks great, but it has an incredible sound! If you haven't already, I would strongly recommend looking into these mic's. Greg was very kind with his time and kept in touch via email with photos and updates. I still can't believe that the mic I now use started off a single block of wood!
Also, the turnaround time and shipping was incredibly fast !

Once again, thanks for a great product Greg!
Now it's time to order the ultimate 57!

Hey, I'm also due to post my review because I'm about 2 months in with my Ultimate 57. I was set on a 545 but Greg read my questions well and led me in the right direction. I haven't done a big live show with it yet but I have done 4-5 practice sessions with a full band.
My initial impression: Full Palette. Tone Cut Punch EQ Comfort, all awesome.

I picked up an XLR volume control when Greg first opened for business. I then sent him a vintage SM57 to turn into an Ultimate as soon as he went live with that item. Next, I snatched up a Samson Wireless when the Feds made my old one extinct...

At Spah 2010, I got to try one of Greg's custom wood bullet mics and drooled over one for nearly two years! I was hesitant only as I don't really need a bullet mic...even less so than 2yrs ago.

However, when he came out with new colors a few months back while at a very low point in my life, I just HAD to treat myself.

After ordering, I even hounded him with changes to the grill, etc...

Well, I got the mic and I jammed for a LOOOONG time with it. I went so far as to try every possible way to make it work for solo work (sorry, I have to have a a dynamic like a SM58 for the non-harp parts, I tried!). I absolutely LOVE IT! I've used the same SM57 and SM58 for gigs since I first picked up the harp 10yrs ago in college. While I've tried many a mic since, those two are my holy grail.

HOWEVER, the mic I got from Greg is the PERFECT blues mic for me. Absolute gold! It instantly inspires me to play traditional blues, which is something I generally don't gravitate to...mic straight to HG2 stuff. I really need to woodshed for this week's gig with Adam Gussow, but I keep plugging the bullet mic in and pretending I am Kim Wilson, lol.

I don't buy into the "mojo" stuff, but this mic made me a believer, lol.

I'll be sending him my 58 to mod soon.
