Boy, what I hear is the power of years of playing harmonica--
A few notes is all you need if you have tone like this.
Listen to what he does around 3:12--that note is the tonic note, the key of the song, so it is the most consonant note he could play--and listen to the crowd respond.
So I would say it's more about the power of intention!
