I am offrered an early Maxi Mouse in bedroom condition for $300. I have no idea if that's good, bad, or about right. I thinks a 1983. I know Adam uses one but no clue what it's worth. Any guesses?

Do you mean the Maxi Mouse? There is the Maxi Mouse and the later Maxi Mouse SMT. The SMT is somewhat more desirable being an upgrade from the original but personally I don't think there's a whole lot of difference.
$300 is pretty steep, IMHO. They show up on Ebay from time to time priced from $150 to maybe $250, though that doesn't mean they sold at $250. People are looking for them, probably the best busking amp there is, but it is a fairly limited market. They are very useful in certain situations which is why folks look for them and they aren't made anymore but they aren't really collectible as such.
If you search the For Sale pages of this forum someone had several for sale not long ago. I think he was asking something like $225-$250 but I'm not sure.
If you are interested in the one being offered be sure to check that the batteries hold a charge and at that price it should include the charger as well.
Negotiation is about how bad the seller wants to sell and how bad the buyer wants to buy. If the seller needs the cash he'll be hard pressed to find a buyer very quickly at that price and may come down. On the other hand he may not be bothered and is willing to hold onto it until he gets what he wants.
