Have you trashed it or just trashed the reeds. because they are easy to change.
There is no such thing as a trashed harp it just depends on what you want to do.
I have loads of old harps from players that were throwing them away and that is my stash for repairs and for practicing customzing.

The 2 draw reed was sounding dull, quiet and not full at all compared to the other reeds. I recently embossed and gapped my C mb deluxe and it sounds and plays like it's on steroids. So i thought i'd have a go on my Bb. The 2 draw plays worse than ever and nothing i try can revive it. I've never replaced a reed and wouldn't know how 2 get the rivet out without damaging the plate 2 even start. Aaargh.

I buy MS reed plates from Antony Dannecker in the UK, he does meisterclass reed plates drilled and hand tuned. He tuned Larry Adlers Harps and i love them, his hand tuned meisterclass is cheaper than an off the shelf one and you get the choice of cover plates. I prefer cross harp painted covers as I am a dry player and my lips stick on chrome covers.
