A shot at "Work Song" on diatonic harmonica in the key of Fm. Played in second position on a Hohner Marine band deluxe Bb. Recorded through my Iphone with an Peavey AmpKit Link. Microphone is a lo-z Shure SM57. Backing track from Jazzbacks.com.
I finally got myself a microphone! Bought me an Shure SM57 I thought that it will be quite easy to pass on if my harmonica spark flits out and dies :). Since I'm a real Iphone Geek I have bought a connecter for guitar to the phone. It's made by peavey, called Ampkitlink. The app for the phone is free but there's a lot to buy "inapp" if you want some cool toys. Maybe an hi-z mic would be better but I've tried it with an impedance matching transformator and got a lot worse sound but i'm going to fiddle with it some more.
Feedback is always appreciated! There is quite a few misses I know but there's just no way I can play a four minute song without screwing up so... Enjoy!
Yeh, there are some misses, but hey! To my ears you've got some real good sensibility, feel and chops. I guess if I practiced about 12 hours a day for the next few years I might catch up. But really, nice job of it. ---------- Matthew
Thank you Matthew, I had a hard getting clearity on that one draw stuff... I think that the sound that the gear was able to produce was quite alright even if it can't compare with a real amp. It's a very mobile set up too. ---------- Pistolkatt - Pistolkatts youtube
Thanks Laurent! The tempo is a bit too fast for me and when I get a bit of "sticking" from my OB:s mainly I have too rush a bit to catch up... My chops isn't good enough I'm afraid.
I really like that I'm able too use my iPhone for this. The ampkitlink cost about 40€ or so, making it affordable. You can get accustomed to the mic thin before putting dough on a real amp.
Any other of you guys tried the ampkitlink or irig for harp? I know jodanchudan recorded some stuff through an behringer v- amp that sounded nice... ---------- Pistolkatt - Pistolkatts youtube
