I need to weigh in on the microphone setup. I bought a Shure 545 and changed the wiring over to high impedance. I am running it through an updated Kay 803 amp. I am very impressed with the mic performance. I took my amp to a dealer and tried several mics through it- I convinced the dealer to change over the impedance at their shop. It gave me more depth and greater response than the other mics I tried out. You will benefit from putting a delay box in the loop. Good luck with your search for an amp.
