Hey, Adam if you are a out there, a question:

I recently had the good fortune to run across a '59 Premier Twin 8 and I bought it. (I told my wife just before the credit card statement showed up.) The tube complement is 2 AX7s and the rectifier tube (?). Just wondering if you run less hot tubes in the preamp stage of your amp? AU7 or the like?

Thanks for all you do.

I don't know what the preamp tube is, except that it's a GE, as is the power tube. There's no writing on it. It's been in there for ages--at least 15 years, which is roughly how long I've had the amp.

Here's a link to a page that has a number of Twin-8s and several related amps.

I've got the one that "Andrew" has.

I also had the T-12R, I think it's called--at the top of the page. It didn't sound nearly as good.

Thanks for that, Adam.
Yep, that's exactly what is reportedly in this amp.
I bought it form some really nice folks in NH and it's being shipped here next week. Just before they were about to send it they tested it out again and the tremolo was in-op. I probably won't use the trem, but they gave it to their amp tech to get in top shape before sending it to me. Again, nice folks.

I also have a '57 Tweed Champ that's 100% original that my uncle left me when he passed on. It sounds great, too. My band has its first gig coming up at the end of the month and I'm really looking forward to putting these little guys to use.
