Well, I was out on an exploration for different takes on the blues and came across this African/Cuban find.

Much to my surprise, playing front and center was Johnny Sansone!

This recording was made in July of 2010 in Toronto just 3 months after HCH1. You can still hear parts of the unbelievable performance he had at the Hill Country pouring out in this song - even if it has the afro/cuban flavor.

Also Jane Bunnett plays the hell out of that soprano sax! I knew nothing of her before stumbling across this video.

Anyway,a little change of pace for you..

I liked that vid too Billy. The rhythm of her voice was hypnotic against the beat of the song... Great stuff...

thats actually a religious ceremony about babalu-aye (ricky ricardo) the spirit of the crossroads who can heal any illness. including the inability to play lol.
