I've been working on some standards, jamming along with Muddy Waters on I'm Ready, Baby Please Don't Go and Got My Mojo Workin and I'm haveing a heck of a time figuring out the harmonica key of the harmonica used to accompany Muddy on these tunes. Would someone please help me with the harp keys for these tunes or where I could find them.

When learning the standards I start by copying, as close as I can the harmonica parts and improvising what I can't copy. This plus the use of Adams lessons and downloads has helped me build my song book.

Thx

Muddy Waters on Fathers and Sons:

I'm Ready is in the key of D so cross harp would be G.
Baby PleaseDon't Go is in the key of A so cross harp is D
Got My Mojo Working is in the key of E so cross harp is A

Good Luck

Hi All:
I've heard that many of the original standard recordings
were not done at true speed so they will sound off pitch.
Dave Barrett's harmonicamasterclass web site has an
'Artists Song Listing' section with keys and positions
to most of the harp standards.

Thanks all for the info. I'll try those keys again and go to Barrett's site. Maybe the pitch is off somewhat due to the recording speed so maybe it isn't all me. I'll make it work.

Thanks again
