Hi Harpers,i thoughti would share with you a tip i picked up from a pro player who in turn picked up this trick from Paul Lamb. When playing amplified instead of placing the harp directly onto the mic,try leaving a gap of a fingers width it has an immediate and quite startling affect on the tone, bigger, fatter, louder, try it it works

Good tip, Geordie--it also seems to help to cup it so tight you can feel the air sucking at your palms when you draw!
Of course, it would also help if I could afford some of the cool equipment that gets discussed around here.
I just watched Adam's lesson on amps--now I seem to have picked up another expensive hobby! Maybe I should have stayed with the drugs. . . ;)

Drugs eh!,you old devil, i once got so wasted at Glastonbury that everyone in the entire place seemed to have my dead dads face,he snuffed it when i was away on holiday and although i came home early he had shrivelled up a bit and his false gnashers did'nt fit in his gob and he looked real bad, so as you can probably imagine i did'nt do Acid anymore after that!

Joe Filisko recommended this same technique and I have always found it produces a bigger better sound. I keep the harp a solid 1.5-2" from the face of the mic when playing with a bullet or similar shaped mic, but the EV vocal mics are harder to keep that space and still cup well.
