Mmmmm. Interesting Ace. My grandchildren do love my train noises, but I think it's oldies like me that can really relate to steam trains. I always include a train routine in my practice each day.

I think the problem with "lip persing vs. tongue blocking"
statement, is the VS. part. It implies that you HAVE to choose one or the other.

It's like the thing with fishermen."live bait vs. artifical". The old guy in the video is right when he said " I don't know...I'm throwing everything I got into this, to make that sound"
I don't think the topic will ever be resolved.

I didnt catch what you meant by (discrepencies), but i would say, do whatever you want. Lip Purse, tongueblock, hell, make up your own embrochure, (tooth block) if you want to. But....... if we want to be "Good", im sure we must dabble in ALL the areas.

Im a "Freestyle" Skateboarder, Thats what i call myself. but that does not mean i do just Truckstands and Rail Tricks all day, i like to do kickflips and use ollies, also grinding is fun too. But... I call myself a "Freestyler". That IS what i see myself as....... and THAT is where the problem lies.

The truth is I am Not a "Freestyler" I am a "Skateboarder"

20 years ago i Could have been a "Freestyler", because the Modern tricks were not invented.

So i can see where the problems arise with Tongue Block vs Lip Purse. Im sure there are some of us who are mostly Tongue Blockers and some who are Mostly Lip Pursers. But im also sure that Most of us with a "Strong Desire" to learn the Harmonica would not dream of leaving something out.
Just a little thought.... thanks for the thread.
