This is a video of John Popper and Ziggy Marley playing No Woman No Cry. It's pretty much amazing. It isn't like Popper's normal solos, yes it has the blazing speed but it is very tasteful.

Yea I have always had mixed feelings about his playing although this is quite nice here. A fellow harp player at a gig one time once told me that he often plays first position - can anyone verify if this is true? ---------- "I play the harmonica. The only way I can play is if I get my car going really fast, and stick it out the window." -Steven Wright

First position is cool. But unless you have Ricci Blood in you then Natural Minor keys are best.Plus you can get minor cords with these. Dont be afraid if you cant over blow. Some of the best harp players dont over blow/draw. There are major reggae tunes but most are minor.

One of the best times (and also the most frightening) was at a jam night in Hammond, IN. The guitarist was phenomenal: he played right handed, except when he played Hendrix, then he played left handed. They said he is huge in Europe, and packs stadiums. It was me, his bass player, a drummer, and some other guys. They asked the other guys to get down, but asked me to stay. They told me what key, and started playing. They didn't say the name of the song, but I knew the melody, but couldn't remember the name of the song or the artist. I started doing fills, and accompanying, and then it hit me: Bob Marley's "Waiting in Vain." I nearly sh1t myself: a rythmically challenged white boy playing reggae with some real musicians! But after the song, everybody told me that I positively nailed the song!
