I have a ten tube monster amp. It's good as is , but I found that that the four power tubes are East German EL34's. This means they are 20 years old, minimum. I'm fine with'em. Jes' wondrin' if KT77's would juice it and still keep the tone.
( I get as much from the amateurs! They are willing to experiment. Me Too! )

Hey
I think you'll find a warmer bottom end with the kt77's.But pending on the usage the el34's have had and how well they are biased the el34's may have more punch.
Best to test and feel.

Doug got back to me from Doug's Tubes. He said likewise. Thought it would not make much diff for harp. He also opined on the size. Love the sound I get...just wish it did not weigh so much!

Holy Schmoly! I just checked prices on the Siemens tubes:
$250 for a quad the lowest I found!
That's about what I paid for the unit complete! ($400). I also sold my Peavey for $250 at a $50 profit and after five years gigging with no repairs or upgrades.
Guess I'll have to get a case for transpo and when not in use.
