OK Walter. I've had a bash.

I didn't listen to the track first [apart from a few bars to get some sort of level to record.]

next time, can you give us an idea of the key? I guessed and I still am not sure if a C harp was the best to use :^(

feel free to comment guys.
The recording technology is a bit 'Heath Robinson' (plug the mp3 player and lumpophone into the Street cube then plug the minidisk recorder into the headphone socket and the headphones into the MD recorder. Then record it onto the PC in real time using a hack in Band in a Box then use Audacity to trim the start and finish and render to MP3)

I am touched you guys were inspired to put some harp to the song! BeardHarmonica you did a great job! Lumpy your stuff is unlike anything I would have ever thought of. I was E on the guitar I believe.

I forgot to say what key it was in. Must be the old blues guys in me- they rarely called anything. Just stomped their foot a bit and said - funk, swing, or whaterver beat they wanted. Walter

@Walter "Lumpy your stuff is unlike anything I would have ever thought of"
Is that good or bad?
It isn't really what I would have thought of either, but then if I'd have thought about it I'd have had the right harp to your 'E'. But wouldn't that defeat the object? :^) If I did it again I would use a different harp and a lot less reverb.

Lumpy: I think your approach was great. I played lots of times in the wrong key. As long as it felt good it is good. What others think is really not in the equation for me. Thinking that way makes for lot of carbon copy players. Walter

This beats a "jam track" anyday and is just the type of thing to recreate "real world" playing situations.

More please, if you don't mind!!!

mandowhacker: I am glad you liked it. I don't plan out my music. When a song comes out without a harp in it I post it. Maybe I have a cash cow in the waiting here-real songs that people can join in not the sterile vibe that is on most backing tracks? It seems whenever I think I have a money maker with my music it usually pans out to a dead end :-)

Shadoe42: I hope you make out ok.

Okay so here it is..Warts and All.. I listened to the first few second of the track to make sure the harp was in tune and then away we went.. When I finished I did a quick mix to make sure the Harp didn't get to loud. Think I might have it to hot here.

And in the spirit of Spontobeat I just let it roll.. But I admit I feel like I was not bold enough.

Thanks Walter. I appreciate that a lot.

Grabbing the new one now :) I enjoy this sort of thing. It is a really good learning tool for one thing.

Gives folks the chance to play with others without having to go meet them..which is good AND bad.

Plus I like this style of playing a lot.
