I want to share one more video of our first show. I've recently added more first position stuff. I was always afraid it was too harsh or bright on the high end. Just took me awhile to learn to hit it easier , I suppose.

I really dig Kashmar, Wilson, Bell, and Ricci in first....but again, Cotton is king! Love to hear him play first position so loose and free, yet so powerful.

I'm using a Buddha Golden Melody in G for the break. The fills and backing are a C harp. I hope you guys dig it.

nice i really hate this song more than i hate eric clapton (i like his yardbirds work) and i usually say i will do it and sing sweet black angel instead with lots of graphic naughty stuff to the pleasure of the usually redneck biker crowd. but yeah im gonna make the just intonation 364 G the new star of this show. thanks a bunch (hugs)

My humble suggestion -- or perhaps brutal, depending on how sensitive you are -- is to try and hit it even easier on the 1 pos stuff. I think you´re laying on it a bit to hard. You sound considerably more confident playing 2 pos; and at times on the solo it seems as if you´re a little out of tune. This is often the case with the recorded harmonica and I really don´t why, so this may be on the recording only. (There are a few mistakes as well but such things happen.)
Otherwise the idea of changing positions is great for added dynamics.

THanks Martin, I honestly think the sound man had me a little too loud. Of course we are all more confident in 2nd position, but at least I'll get my feet wet.

I thought the solo was okay...and I never expect to make it thru a performance mistake free...especially since I'm throwing in the kitchen sink with overblows and overdraws.

Thanks for commenting!

I like your power playing, great for that venue.Willing to bet you can play soft and melodic if need be.I know I get carried away to push the overblows and draws,a few mistakes to hit that spine tingler. I have the hg50 also, just curious what settings your using there.Been playing mostly through just the pa ala cotton, nowhere near his caliber of course. Barbecure Bob would skewer my ass for how hard I blow, but some of it is overcompensating for soundmen and other musicians keeping me down in the mix.Doesn't happen much anymore, the audience calls for lets hear that harpman.

I set highs on 1,mids on 3 and bass about 4. I also use a harp delay, but I use it settings low ...just enough to wet my tone. The amp has cut thru fine everywhere I have used it.

To each his on. I try to play gently but sometimes you get caught up in the moment.

I'm more about fun anyway. Sometimes its fun just to "honk it"!
