I would like to know what would be a good solid state amplifier for harmonica for under $100? I playing a gig in a few months and I need a cheap amp.

probably going to have to go used on the amp. i would take your mic into a second-hand music store and blow thru several. make sure it has a line out or you have an extra mic to send the signal to the pa.
if you want new; i would try the roland cube. it can be run on batteries, has lots of knobs so you can tweak different sounds from it and it is about $125.

I agree about the Roland cube- I've tried it out at a guitar center and it has a great blues sound under the setting "brit combo" (or something like that)

Hi: My first love...oops, I mean amplifier, was a little '95 solid state tweed Fender Bronco. Looked a mini tweed Fender Champ or a Pro Junior. I took the back panel off it to help the projection. It has an overdrive channel that with the bass at 10 and gain at 1.5 gives a real nice growly bark. It was always getting mistaken for a tube amp. I got mine new for around $200 Canadian but a used one would be much less, if you could find one.
BUT, put a harp commander in front of it and it comes alive. Kind of like jumping from 2 dimensional sound to 5!
I jammed with it for several years until my dream tube amp arrived. I was starting to do Adam's dual amp setup with it but a really nice gentleman who had been attending the jam for as long as I had been kept offering to buy it for himself and his son, both of whom were starting out to play some and I finally caved and sold it to him for a very good price. He keeps telling me how much he likes it. If I come across another one I might buy one back.
