I'm considering buying a chrom harp for the first time - I know it should be in 'c' - but is it better to have 12,14, or 16 holes to play blues? I know LW and George Smith played 16 hole models but is there any disadvantage to having more holes?

Hi:
I'd put out the $$$ for a 16 hole. I've got a CX-12 and I
find a tune will beg to drop into that low growly octave
and...it ain't there. :(

I would say buy a Hohner 260 and see if you like the chrom first. It doesn't have the lower octave, but it does have 10 holes that work pretty well!
I have a super 64 I would sell if you are interested. I have played the 260 for years and my wife bought me the 16 holer after we saw Mark Hummel. I tried it a few times, but I'm so use the 10 holer I just don't like it! Its just like new $150.
