It works with scissors! I just tried that. Especially the small one I use for cutting my nose hair. You can buy that if you want to, so I can buy a new sharper one (that was a joke). But it actually worked with scissors. I bought a Lee Oskar harmonica tool kit, not too expensive if I remember right, and with that kit it was the tool I use in the video. Håkan

haha cool. actually i use the 3 blade disposable peice of razor for nose hairs. but im gonna find a small scissors. i read about it on pats site and was gonna try a file and a razor blade. i sold my resonator to a friend and wed do the tune in G and on a C harp i could sorta fake that bit like chewing/overblowing? but whenever i got close hed look over and smile. i do it solo in D with an indian tanpura, but i really wanna do it in E the right way with an E jews harp as a tanpura substitute. is this the same altered harp? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVDYhF0K80A
I discovered a Special 20 I had modified to this tuning, but had not labeled. And since this is not a tuning I use, I had to research what it was (I had a good idea, but thought it might be the Todd Parrott tuning--it's not, I think he lowers 7 draw?) and stumbled across this excellent video (the one where he describes how to do the tuning). So I am resurrecting this old thread to applaud Håkan--good job! And also to mention that I find this tuning to be interesting--the minor third on hole 6 draw is adjacent to the major third, still on hole 7 draw. The harp I modified plays great, airtight on the bottom, and it overblows well--6 OB is the major third! Fun! Guess I will have to do this song more often. One more harp to drag to the gig.
