I have been practicing a bit, but today, I got out to a jam. I don't think I knocked anybodies socks off, but at least I didn't embarrass myself (except maybe the F minor piece I tried on an F harp). It was fun and I hope to do more of it. I am going to need to get myself an amp so I do not need to rely on the generosity of other musicians.
I converted this case to hold my gear;

I broke one of the latches. Does anyone know where I can find Presto Combination case latches?

What are those two big/long harmonicas (one with a black plastic comb, the other with a cool translucent neon green comb)? Are they some kind of tremolo harmonicas?

Sweet-looking case. I use an old briefcase too, except mine is plastic (Samsonite); yours looks way better. I notice there are often old briefcases/suitcases in our council clean-up piles. You could try that or maybe even a garbage dump or second hand store for spare parts?

One day Mr Bronzy i'll just pop on by and watch you playin, then i'll pull my dirty old A and C harps out of my stubbies and let rip.......they all play ok and have the dents and grime to prove it, my idea of a harp case is an old pencil box btw....lol...STME58 has a nice neat case with all the lollies inside, i just shove mine in me pocket.

I'm shy too, Stan. I just put on a stage persona when I play. Busking actually opened up my personality. :)

that's a real class case ST. i don't know where to get a latch but google likely does. re Fminor. depending on what genre of music that song was in a Bb in 2nd position or an Eb in 3rd would serve well. are you stateside? lots of options for an amp in the usa, i don't know about other places much. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

@REM,
Those are tremmolos I picked up in a Yamaha Music store in Shenzen for 25 yuan each. They are labeled wth the brand Apollo. They are both in C but one is an octave lower. That was all the keys they had in the store.In fact, that was all the harmonicas they had in the store. I don't speak Chineese, and the folks in the store did not speak english, but the attidude that came across was as if I had gone to a Stienway showroom and asked to buy a kazoo. If I had not had a harp in my pocket I would never have gotten across what I was looking for.
They are 24 holes blow and draw are separated with a horizontal divider. The reed plates look complicated because both reed plates have blow and draw reeds. They alternate across the harp. I don't know much about them and I can't do much with them but they were inexpensive and sound cool.

@billy_shines,
Thanks for the link. I think the Presto Music and Presto hardware may be related in name only, but it is good to know a retail source for the hardware.
The latch shown is differnt from mine in that it bolts on through the front. Mine are tapped for screws to come in from the inside of the case. it seems to be die cast and I wonder if they discontinued this latch because they break.
I may have to get a latch like the one in the link and drill the case.

@lor
I have had one of those Shaker dynamic mics for years and they are a good, light, option.

I am new to the whole amplifed thing. I can't even remeber whether the mic I have is a crystal or a dynamic. It seems a bit small for my large hands but it works. The volumne control has a nice feel to it with clics along the way so you know how far you are turning it, kind of like a rifle scope.
