The other day I was listening to this guitar solo:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh3bleXWaCk&feature=youtu.be

and I realized that I've never heard a harmonica instrumental that is as jarring or soulful as this. I've heard plenty of brilliant harmonica pieces, but none with the quite the same slow soulful drawl that this song invokes. Closest would be Diggin' My Potato and other stuff like it.

Not just the notes being played, either, but how they're played; this particular recording of the song seems to capture something other renditions of it don't.

Anyone have any suggestions for something like this?

I have posted this here before. For me it's one of the most "soulful" pieces of harmonica playing I've heard. It's in a different vain musically than the OP but I think it comparable. Simple playing with lots of dynamics.
