Today in my mail was a copy of Head, Hands, & Feet- A book of one man bands- by Dave Harris.

Dave has been researching the 1 man evolution for years and this book is so full of players, bios, pictures, it will take me months to go through it all. It is hard bound, 415 pages, full of color pictures, and nice glossy pages. Several folks here are mentioned in it- Adam, Deak, and myself. From the wierd, old, european, rock, blues, jazz, you name it, if had a 1 man band doing it he got it in the book. there is a lot on jessie fuller and Dr ross. I reccomend this book to any 1 man band enthusiast. Walter

thanks for posting that opendoor harps! Yes BBJ is in it jbone. I think anyone who has put in a bit of time as a 1 man band is in it. I have been looking through the book at night before I go to sleep and the sheer number of 1 man bands Dave has chronicled is mind boogling. I respect people that have a blindly driven passion. Dave does with the 1 man band thing. I realized I have been doing the 1 man band since the late 70's. Heck that puts me at over 30 years at it. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I wanted to share the book with a few students that help out in my special education high school class but when I read the section on me and my recollections of playing with wilbert harrision, I couldn't do it. Being a public school teacher and how I do life today does not jive with what/how I use to do music/life. I am proud of my life but this school thing is so conservative........ Walter
