Duane is this your new band ? I remember hearing James Cotton do Flip. Flop, Fly on the album "Live & On The Move" and was hooked!

Way to blow that horn buddy, sounded pretty good...

This ones a little fuzzy of you playing with "The Disposables" but you cut through okay, nice solo...Will those guys be at the festival with you?

No. The first vid is the band that "canned" me in January. I said the new band was Catfish Frye Band. Everybody keeps asking what happened to them? They wouldn't even let me do a break on F.F.F. Hard to say good playing when there is no playing.

Funny on the second video. My son on guitar. He was in town with his drummer and we did unrehearsed open mic. He lives out of state. I sure wish I could see him more. I think he and i have both improved since this.

Sure you played on that first one, Duane! Fills and comping are 'playing'...and that sounded good to me.

I wasn't sure there were a ton of videos of the Back Talkers with you on harmonica, so I thought that was something new you were doing. I picked FFF cause I love that song and I thought you played enough in that tune, it worked.

The second vid I picked cause even though it's fuzzy I can hear you a little better. I'm sure you will get some video of you playing at the festival coming up, like you said you probably stepped it up a notch or two in last couples of years. Your Son did ya proud he -sounded good too.

Don't use it, but with box.com you upload then you have choose how to share it, one of them is to embed it.

Frank..I'm blushing. This is old stuff on a cheap guitar just messin around. Sound quality not good. Just funnin for family after a few brews. I do have better stuff up with The Back Talkers. My son's vocals are better now. I do post videos of my musical journey. Should get better as it goes....don't we all hope.

Our last name is Frye and a band I jammed with nicknamed me Catfish. Before my son moved we hoped to start Catfish Fryes. He is not in Catfish Frye Band but there is a slot open for him when/if he makes it back this way.

Good or bad, jammin with my son is a treasure!

Thanks Todd...a good friend disigned that for me as a show flyer. THe logo is actually this.

THis is a little better. I hate the fact that when I listen to what i did, I'm criticizing little things in my mind...lol...instead of enjoying the good parts.

Nice job on Caldonia Duane (my very favorite song!) - don't feel bad that this band cannned you... the singer can't sing worth a damn!
plus who ever heard of FFF w/out a harp intro or break - their loss not yours!!

Another very cool logo Duane, I like that "blues from the gut"...Now, you just need to live up to the hype! Nice horn tootin on Caldonia - I'm sure you'll kick ass at the upcoming festival...

I appreciate you having videos up on you tube so fellow forum members can see and hear what your about,it really speaks volumes compared to the written word, thank you...

Thanks Ryan, Frank, and Barry. I know my skills are not as advanced as some of the great players on this forum, but you are right Frank...what could be better than a video record of your journey.

I LOVE watcing the videos everyone posts here. No matter what level the player, you can always learn something. Example..the recent posting of 3rd position by harper brought on a lot of response that I am sure educated a lot of people.

"what could be better than a video record of your journey".

Precisely, it's fun to talk and write about the harmonica, but having videos available for members to put a face and a sound to what is being said is even more enlightening and helpful overall because it brings the words to life.

I don't know about you, but seeing and hearing what someone is describing is such a fun and powerful way to learn and understand were their coming from. What are your thoughts?

I agree. Anytime someone is explaining a lick or technique, a 30 second video would be wonderful!

Your mouth to Gods ears Duane, that's all it takes, like they say a picture or a video is worth a 1000 words!
