I tried to convert a file from Quicktime to MPEG-4 to play on my ipod. I converted the file through itunes, but when it was complete, the audio was horrible. It starts out choppy then fades out completely after a few minutes. Has anyone converted thee files any other way?
Somedays I'm on the road for 12 hours. It sure would be good to get some listening and playing in while driving. I plan to hold the wheel with my knees, to free up both hands for playing. Does anyone see a problem with this?

Sometimes you have to let go of the harp for a few seconds with the right hand to straighten things out--but, other than that, it works great! I do notice that a lot of driving tends to make my lips a little sore--but I guess I'll just have to live with that.

To get Ipod friendly files--try Adams website--he sells 10-lesson files that are zipped up MP3's or MP4's that work great--I have them on my Ipod. And get one of those thingys that the Ipod plugs into that lets it play through the radio--then you will be really ready to jam.

I wonder if they make one of those neck brace things to hold the steering wheel?

I'm not trying to drum up business, but I should weigh in about this: I currently offer, as mp3 (audio) files, zip files of almost all my YT lessons so far: packs of 10 mp3s from .000 to .113 or so, for $5 each.

Thanks to the help of another YT subscriber, I've also offered a couple of zip files of the mp4 (iPod/video/QuickTime) versions of the lessons, in packs of 10, also for $5 each. They're very large zip files--150+mb each--and take a lot of storage space at Tradebit. I haven't decided whether I want to upload the remaining zip files and make all the YT lessons available in this form, since that'll burn about a gig of space and I'm currently renting only 5 gigs.

I offer both the mp3s and mp4s as a convenience to those who would prefer not to spend the time downloading and converting the YT videos to those formats. For harp students, it's a quick, easy way to kill two birds with one stone: get the content in a convenient form, quickly; and support my efforts here. But of course, since all the original videos are right there on YT, it's possible, with a little tech savvy, to do all this yourself, and I'm happy to have folks do that.

... in which case, you can go to www.youtubehack.net, and paste in the url. Then you can pick a file type you want to convert to (MP3 I guess). They convert the file and then you can click on a link to download it.

HI all

Being the one that helped Adam out with the Ipod videos, I must say that the conversion process is quite easy, as many have noted here. There are lots of tools out there that can do this for you - it however takes a bit of persistance to get them all done and sorted in a good way.

Anyway, The easy way out is to contact Ada, he has all up to "Gussow.111 - Harlem riff 2" from me. Btw, there is no kickback to me for this, it was just my was of giving back.

rock on.

Bluesnut;

Yeah--I bought one of those little recorders too--just like the man (Adam) said--'the best 80 bucks you'll ever spend'. What a great tool! I like to record it when I think I have a good jam going--then check it out a couple days later to see if it was really as good as I thought--sometimes it is--sometimes it ain't--but even then I find ways to make it better.

1. Copy the URL from Youtube and paste it into www.keepvid.com and select download
2. Then right click on the resulting .mp4 file listed and do a "Save as".
3. Then open the the xxxxxx.mp4 with Quicktime
4. Go to the File menu and select Export
5. When the next window opens, look for the "Export" field near the bottom.
6. Click on the drop box and select "Sound to AIFF".
7. Then open iTunes, import the song and put it on your ipod.

weird, this is an old thread.....

realplayer pro will allow you to download any youtube vidio straight from youtube. when you hover the mouse over the video, a bos will come up saying "download this video" or something like that.. i then use AVS video converter to change them over to mp4s.. i use this all the time.. i have all of adam's, ricci's, buddah's, and ronnie's vids on my ipod this way.. when im at work and cant play, i like to listen to them..

also, i know it costs money, but i have a few of adams videos, and they are worth the $$ and dont take converting..

Just use firefox. Click on Tools - Add-ons. Then type in "Youtube" and you will be offered a variety of youtube utilities to, well, add-on.

I use the 1-click youtube video downloader, myself.

It's all free!
