I listened to Dirty doz. today and realized if u wan`t to play some BLUES ,you better sing the dialect...
if you pronounce your notes in high english it aint the BLUES.. the trumpet solo on,
'the monkey" by D.D.B.B. IS PURE ,, blues it can be played with a harp but you better speak the dialect...
this is a thing i have always felt, the blues scale is all you need if your funk is in order.......
but you can always color it with other scales ,the blues sound wise is in root, flat 3rd.,fourth.flat 5, 5, flat 7 and octives, and all points in between...
i think i`ll try to sound like wilson picket singing mustang sally.with a little ,alan wilson ,triplet dit-dit-dit,buglein`,boggie chilin` #2,say what, who listens!!!
