Can't seem to find any good comparisons with/without bulletizer, to make a good decision what to put on my growing wish-list!
It seems like a very good idea, and yet I can't seem to find too many examples of people bothering much for them!
Help would be much appreciated.

sound wise there is not that much difference than the mic with a good strong cup with harp held a little distance from the mic and some hand volume in the cup.
the main attentiveness is that is makes it much easier for many, myself included, to cup the mic than without
but if you have access to an sm58 then you should be able to get a good idea of what you will get simply with a good tight cup.
oh yes, and i don't have a sound clip of it, but if you use this mic with a bulletizer as sort of a whah, you can get a bit of the coffee cup effect as well, more than just with a hand cup around the same mic.

on my second Ultimate. First one stolen. Used the bulletizer quite a bit on the first one. Not at all on this one. I'm now more comfortable with just the mic. I think to some degree it is a comfort issue and or size of hands or grip. I just had aggressive hand surgery. They removed the 3rd bone in each thumb and replaced with Tendon from forearm. I may need to go back to the bulletizer. Glad I got a new one. Good Luck with your choice. Greg is great help. ---------- And I Thank You !! KCz Backwoodz Bluz

I didn't find that in the history. (I did find some experiences, stating that the difference is neglectable - followed by a remark of mr. Heumann himself stating that it does fatten up the tone. Hence my question in the first place.)
I would be grateful for the repost!

what is the difference between a stock sm57 and ultimate sm57, other than the volume knob? Of course i could write to Greg and he would be the best person to answer, but thought id ask this here since ive been also looking at the bulletizer/ultimate 57..

@logansays: i think it's pretty clearly listed at the Blows Me Away Productions site, but as the very happy owner of an Ultimate 545, the main difference (aside from the volume control), is that the entire body is hand-engineered by greg from space age alien materials to make it shorter and, thus, less off-balance in the hands/grip, than the stock issue. it also looks much cooler, if that matters.
greg can get also fit it with different connections/impedences, and a vintage element (vs. the stock one), if that's your bag. (also, he makes a right angle 5/8" screw-on cable that is great if you go with the hi-impedence version.)
i haven't bulletized mine, but i love the mic. gets plenty dirty with a good cup; plays great clean. and greg is very helpful with the questions during the process.
