Let me show my ignorance (and laziness, cause I don't want to research the answer myself)
I first heard this tune by Eric Bibb. He used the chord structure 4411, 4411, 5411. That is the structure I use today when we perform this tune.
This video, and the video by Geneva Red of this tune, do it to a standard blues 1111, 4411, 5415.
What was the "original" structure??

Just another great video, I love his tone and cupping technique. Not quite the same as Adams but close I guess.
