I've been grooving to this guy tonight. This is unreal for 1928. Wonder whose licks he studied?
I love this picture... that dude is playing jug in a RACK!! I'm reading now that was a custom jug made from a coal oil can.
It is just me or does Noah Lewis look like Charlie Murphy?

Noah Lewis is great and you don't here his name dropped that much.I think he influenced a lot of people.Check out Viola lee blues.He could sing really well too.also Chickisaw Special is a great train song.Jug stompers were probably one of the few jug bands that played 12 bar format blues songs.Great early stuff.
