I am looking for the value. POD HD500 2.02 firmware came out last night and you can adjust the input impedence. Right now, I use an Ultimate 57 into a cable that goes to a Peavey transformer and than the guitar input.

The unit has a mic input too. However, you have to adjust the input gain via a knob and I am too illiterate to do it right. Meaning, I want the mic to clip, so I don't know how to test that I have enough/not enough gain.

If Greg is around, maybe you can help me with using the mic input and how to know if it is hot enough?

There is an "auto" option for the input impedence, and honestly, I was more into trying out the new amp models and preamps - you can also now adjust cab parameters, etc. The options are amazing.

I was able to dial in a new beatbox patch that sounds way better than my current one. I only got to try it through studio headphones and studio monitors as it was getting late. I was using some SOD cuts for reference tracks, but then tried mixing to some Dub FX studio tracks.

I added the new bass amp to my bass singing patch and it really cleaned things up! Much more of a tight upright bass tone oddily enough.

Soon I'll try a new Bassman patch using the deep editing options. Once I get the levels set between patches, I'll share some clips.

Shure's datasheet for the SM57 states "Rated impedance is 150? (310? actual) for connection to microphone inputs rated low impedance."

You'd need to check the specs for your transform to get its output impedance.

I don't think you want to clip the POD's inputs; you should getting your overdrive i the modelling part of the unit.
