I have a Fender Blues Junior and have changed the tubes as follows: V1 12AU7 V2 12AU7 V3 12AT7 I use it with a pre 1986 shure green bullet (I think they were made in Mexico), with no volume pot, but a screw thread underneath.
It sounds good and there is no feedback.
My question is the green b compatable with this amp and how can I improve the sound?

"It sounds good and there is no feedback" sounds to me like it is compatible

What does "there is no feedback " mean? I suspect you mean you get adequate volume out before feedback starts rather than there is no feedback irrespective of control settings?
As Lumpy says, if it sounds good, looks like you have it cracked.
The amp only really sees the mic voltage, it doesn't really care what brand the mic is...I'm not saying different mics don't sound different (they do, so try everything you can get your hands on), just that if the input struggles to deal with >2VAC, >2VAC from a different mic will still present issues.
How would you percieve an improved sound to be? Can you describe what you feel are the limiting factors right now? Are you asking with regards to plug/screw in/out mods (it's not a great, or cost effective platform for circuit mods, some simple mods are feasible...but you'll be experimenting)?
FBJ have a high gain circuit, bordering on instability in the stock amp, I'd look first at trying a 10" speaker, using a baffle converter ring.

@5F6H Yes, having changed the tubes means I can actually use the thing; before I did that it was feeding back constantly even at low volume.
I was wondering what others had done to the Blues J; which I remember was not a reccomended amp from a previous thread.
