Has anyone in this forum ever converted an AFB to a pedal that is hardwired as 18V, with a foot switch? I like the AFB, but not all the time.

I think the AFB requires two 9 volt supplies (or a bipolar 9 volt supply). I don't think it'll work with a single-ended supply and 18 volts might damage it.

You need two separate 9v power supplies. If you use two power cables from the same transformer, it won't work. I learned from experience.

So Gene, are you saying I couldn't use (2) 9v power cords off of my "brick"?

Yeah I just dremmeled a hole ran the female battery receptors out Taped them up all sturdy than found these adaptors that fit right onto the battery receptors and ran each one seperatly (like gene said) to two individul 9v power supplys in that case a box (bbe supacharger) you can use the wall worts to...a Foot switch would be a neat invention but whenever I have one of these box's I LEAVE it on.

Lonewolf is apparently making a pedal of similar ilk.
There have been snags along the way but last I heard its somewhat imminent.
I ordered a new kinder about 6 weeks ago he is quite behind on orders. But to be fair I have waited much longer for other pedals for guitar. I can't wait as I like the one I borrow quite a bit.

It took me a while to warm up to the AFB. For me it behaves differently depending on the mic I use and the key of harmonica being played. I really like it with the lower harps and a crystal mic. I don't use it all the time, that's why I'd like it with a foot switch.

I guess I should have said "I think t The AFB requires two 9 volt supplies (or a bipolar 9 volt supply). I don't think it'll It won't work with a single-ended supply and 18 volts might will damage it. "

Have any of you guys tried using an EQ pedal instead to lower the volume of the offending frequency? I'm thinking of buying one of the dunlop graphic eq pedals. I'm hoping that this wouldn't have a negative effect on tone though; perhaps you could make up for it by adjusting the other frequencies.
