I am really starting to love 12th position on lower key harps, like this one in Ab. Here Christelle is playing in 12th position on an Ab, which is the key of Db.
Very nice sound on tunes like this one. I like Christelle's version.
the interesting history of this melody, called the londonderry aire,is that it was played by a blind fiddler and woman overheard him play it and transcribed it to sheet music-christelle,as always, does a brilliant job with it-so glad she is part of this forum which is the best on earthIMHO
I don't care if she offends easily, is offended easily, or is Robin Williams in drag. Every time I hear her play I always think, "Gawd, she is f***ing good." Her use of dynamics and color of tone are just wonderful. She is deep into the song and what she's playing with an intense emotional attachment. Just watch her body language and physical movements. Every single note MEANS something. If she could somehow get through whatever it is that makes her so reluctant to be a stage performer she could be an international star, which she kind of is now but actually get paid the big bucks. But then maybe it wouldn't be the same for her. She's an artist and these great videos she shares with us are an expression of her art.
BTW Christelle, I'm still very much interest to know if you also create your backing tracks and if so what samples or set up you use. They always sound great as well. ---------- LSC

Christelle work very hard at her art. She has MS and it may be a factor in how she approaches life.
I use Danny Boy as an example for 12 or as we called it 1st flat position. Think F major on a C harp. if you play the blues you've been playing that Bb your whole time already. LOL yeah 3 draw half step bend. ---------- Emile "Diggs" D'Amico a Legend In His Own Mind How you doin'
