I'd like to thank Jim for inviting me down West Virginia to share some great experiences. This was a real diverse group of harmonica players. Friday was a long day for me, I had planned to leave work early and then got the dreaded late afternoon phone call that someone needed their files processed. Never fails does it? I got a late start and regret that I missed the opportunity to hear some fantastic music and get to know some new folks better. On arrival Jim welcomed us like old friends and I had the feeling that I was in for a great weekend.
Saturday was a memorable one, I started the day with some scale theory presented by Jim and then I was off to Danny G's Band in a Box demo. I taught my own class on harmonica amps, of course I had some help from Dan Dial, who loaned me his Greg Heuman custom Zoo II. I wish we could have had more folks taking advantage of the opportunity to play through some great amps! As I stated before, this was a diverse group of players and certainly not everyone is going to enjoy the raw Chicago tube over drive, however, thanks to those that did attend. Meeting Pat Missin was fabulous,he has some uncommon techniques that he shared with us, he produces a blending of sound that seems to be multiple instruments playing together.I had the chance to meet David Payne, and he's as solid and genuine as the hills of West Virginia.
I don't think people realize the amount of work that goes in to organizing a club event like this one. There is even a little of what I'll call injustice for Jim in that he couldn't enjoy all the benefits that he provided to the attendees! So Jim, I thank you for your effort. If Jim does this again, I'll be there, and I highly recommend it to the readers of the forum.

I forgot to mention Walters Brownies, I discovered them a bit late, otherwise there wouldn't have been enough to share.

I thank Jim too. He put on a great event! Sorry we missed each other Ted. You can stop by my place anytime for brownies :-)
Harptime: You are also welcome to come by for bagels. I learned all this stuff from my mother, who is from Italy, and made everything from scratch at home. It served me well when musical times got tough. I did a lot of outdoor manual labor but then tried to get work in bakeries and I succeeded. Better pay and less on the back somewhat. I didn't attend this event, but I know that Jim is a first class, nice guy. He made the VA Harmonicafest much more fun for all of us when he attended in 2011. He's a great musician too!

Thanks for the kind words.
At the Saturday firepit, I was commanded to plan HarmoniCollege 2, ... It has begun.
