cool.Hey i want to thank You Billy for the seeds just got them in,Im going to plant a big garden with em;-)Yea i made one just in a couple of minutes with a old CBG I had that had no tuners i tied the bass string down at both ends and put a bottle at the bridge to give it tension,I had a small piozo mic that i slid in the box and just made the recording just trying to firgure out how it sounded,Im going to make another one I think ill try what you said for the tuners,I can see where they would make some cool low end bass sounds exspecially if they tuned up well. ---------- Hobostubs

ill try to get a pic soon its a slot in a 2x4" with a block on the end with a hole, the J hook goes in the slot and a wingnut tightens it.in europe they have ring bolts its like a screw eye and ring, but the ring will fit over a broomstick another screw eye and L bracket with a wingnut should work but i havent tried it yet. its not that bass tuners are so much its just more work than its worth to put a tuner on a broom or 2x4.

well a humbucker wasnt traditional. in the 20s and 30s they used headphone crystal elements or a phono stylus pickup. this was then hot wired into a radio or a jukebox. the big thing now is a wall wart coil with a hardrive magnet on top. theres some old popular mechanics plans for one string lapsteels.

i know johnny he sorta gets mad when people copy what he does he lines the box with aluminum foil, he uses two sewing bobbins with magnet wire and two small cylnder neo mags in the holes these are shrink wrapped directly on the sticks and in a series to the jack. hot straight to the amp no volume or tone controls. on his two strings km williams uses a .052 and an unwound .018 G string and tunes C and C semi sharp (an iranian tuning). johnny uses a .048 and a .014. i use a stripped video cable about .028 for a deep bass tone and a .014 stainless steel rope strand that i keep replacing the copper wire lasts forever. i tune DG or DA ir the C C semi sharp deal. you have to get them both in C then raise one until that magic sound happens before hitting C#.

well thats how he does it he winds the wire on the bobbin with a sewing machine then hot glues a 1/4" x 1/4" cylnder neo mag inside the hole. the box is lined with aluminum foil.
