I love the vibrato he gets when he dips his voice low at the end of his vocal phrases. The harp playing isn't bad, but the singing is excellent and the whole package--well, this is what many of us wish we could do and what few of us can. He's just....got it:

Great singing, but I hope he's joking about that age difference lol

IMHO there is nothing good with his singing and harp playing. IMHO he do not have feelings and charisma and I even don't think about technique. I think some musicians have natural born talents and skills but others do not have and they need to practice hard to get better results. I think he stopped doing this thing many-many years ago.

Harmonica Shah was one of the local blues dudes in Detroit during the 80's - 90's. What was interesting is that he was the one black performer that had the groove of a white guy...he was feeling beats 1 and 3 more than 2 and 4. kinda stiff.

Can somebody please explain wheel's post for me? Anybody?

I believe he's saying Harmonica Shah has no feeling, charisma or technique. There's nothing good with his singing and harp playing, and he stopped practicing hard many years ago.

wheel then goes on to link to what he terms a better video, which is.....wait for it.....Harmonica Shah, singing and playing at about the same skill level as in the first video (this time with a backing band).

Am I in the bizarro world? Or is the whole post tongue-in-cheek?

Help me understand the logic/message here. somebody. anybody.....bueller?...bueller?

I think Harmonica Shah deserves recognition and is the type of guy who should be invited to hill country. Check out his songs on i-tunes.

I wish I knew English better to express my thoughts more clear to you.
I deleted this vid from my post if it embarassed you. Now you are not alone in the universe? :)

As for logic. In my second vid I heard that Shah catched the groove and sang better and his harmonica playing became closer to the "harmonica playing", at least he shows some phrasing. But this vid is still shows that he is too poor in his skills. Sorry for all - English is not my native language so I can do some mistakes.

There was no need to take the video down, just the explanation was needed. The first time around it came across as though you were saying "Harmonica Shah is not very good, but this guy IS very good." Thus, it didn't make sense. I get it now.

I also disagree, I think his singing is outstanding in both clips. He would benefit from hiring somebody to play harp as well as he sings though.

I like his harp playing and singing. And he has lived the blues lifestyle more than most.

I like this guy and would pay money to see him in person.

When it comes to playing the classic old school blues, the man is the real deal and it's not just based on harp playing and solos alone.
