"Zadozica-"How do you feel about Bill Maher calling Sarah Palin a c...?
Looks like it happens on both sizes of tha same political coin. "

Just because someone else does something doesn't make it right."

Exactly, so where is the outrage from the Left for what Maher did?

The Left and the Right are just two sides of the same coin.

When Bill Maher made insensitive comments on his show Politically Incorrect in 2002 he lost his ABC show, sending him to HBO. It is true that he has escaped flak for poor taste and insensitive remarks. There is no excuse for that. However Rush L. Is the topic here. Just because the left as you call it does not excoriate Bill Maher shouldn't give Rush a pass to be an insensitive boor. It is the old kids argument when caught doing something bad.."But Tommy did it and didn't get punished!" Deflecting blame to someone else is a tired tactic used by too many with a weak case.

@kingoBad- I'm sorry. I don't have a clue what you're on about, not to mention you put "begging" in quotes when in fact the word used was "begs".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Begging_the_question#Modern_usage
Many English speakers use "begs the question" to mean "raises the question," or "impels the question," and follow that phrase with the question raised, for example, "this year's deficit is half a trillion dollars, which begs the question: how are we ever going to balance the budget?" Many philosophers and grammarians deem such usage incorrect. Academic linguist Mark Liberman recommends avoiding the phrase entirely, noting that because of shifts in usage in both Latin and English over the centuries, the relationship of the literal expression to its intended meaning is unintelligible and therefore it is now "such a confusing way to say it that only a few pedants understand the phrase."

regardless of whether a show is right or left they are there to create controversy and tell people what they want to hear-with the november election coming up,I tell people to let your voice heard then but I really dont want to argue about it would rather spend my time more constructively

MJ, you keep repeating a point I am not making as though you saw me defend Rush. Frankly I do not care if Rush goes down or not. So how do you come to the conclusion that i am trying to deflect blame from Rush? What I care about is intellectual honesty. Neither side has it, both are crooked and self serving. To put one above the other from a moral standpoint is a false illusion.

Hey Adam, since this thread seems to have drifted not only into an all to typical these days uncivilized political debate but, would you believe, a nitpicking of semantics and the academic correctness of the English languages (from Americans no less)maybe it's time to close it out and get back to harp related matters. Just saying.

Zadozica, I don't think anyone was putting one above the other in any moral conclusion as far as this thread goes. Bringing up Bill Maher is off subject, and in my estimate a "deflection" off of the issue. The story in question, Kim Wilsons decision to not play his music on Rushs show does not mention Bill Maher once. I don't believe I ever mentioned that you were defending Rush, only that 2 wrongs do not make a right and that you had strayed from the original subject of the thread. How Bill Maher was treated or not treated is inconsequential to the matter. The matter of who should be pillared for political insensitivity or boorish behavior is best left for another thread. On that matter I think we may both agree that both sides are adept at chicanery and subterfuge.

Vote with your wallet. If some musician, actor, or talk show host puts their politics in your face, just don't buy their crap.

I've got a world of entertainment to choose from, it's no skin off my nose if they don't want my dollars....

Due respect to Kim Wilson, he should stick to what he does best. Now he wears the broad brush of partisan tomfoolery and that's a sad way to alienate half an audience. It's a Rosie O'Donnell thing to do.

Topically the successful lawyer chick with her hand out is rich. Her boyfriend's family founded Brandeis University. You want to cut her a check go ahead, but don't rope me into it as well. I want no part of it.

And if you don't like Rush Limbaugh, by all means turn off the AM radio. There is a larger game in play here. Chatting up news like this divides us as it's designed to do. The only way to win is not to play.
