I;m sure people TB blow bend, But what about TB overblows?
If any one can give me tips on both that would be great.
I can TB draw bend so I assume Tb Blow bend is possible...
No problems w LP bends or Over blows, Just to be clear.

I can't give you any tips because I cannot yet do it myself, but it is possible to do tongue-blocked blow bends, overblows and overdraws. Sugar Blue, for example, tongue blocks 100% of the time.

So, Sugar Blue over blows, I always wondered about that.
Do you think that mouth, and tongue size may limit a players ability to tongue block blow bend? I have a short tongue. ---------- God Bless the U.S.

The short answer is yes you can blowbend and OB when toungeblocking. Myself, I've manage to blow bend but not in a musical concept :). Can't TB OB. I think Jodanchudan here TB overbends. It's the same as everything harmonica: Stay at it :). ---------- Pistolkatt - Pistolkatts youtube

Only just got into lip pursing after 24 years of TB playing. In answer, yes, you can bend, blow bend, overblow and overdraw with tongue blocking. Plus you can bend overblows. All the same as a lip purser.
Switching to lip pursing, the principal is exactly the same. I'd say if you can do any of these LP you can do 'em TB IMO.

Sugar Blues doesn't use over blows. At least he didn't the last time I listened to him. He does play 100% tongue blocked though I believe. As for tongue blocked blow bends and over blows. The answer is yes. Dennis Gruenling uses them all the time as does Mitch Kashmar (although Mitch doesn't use over blows). I can tongue block overblows and also blow bend tongue blocked. Although I find blow bends harder to control tongue blocked. I'm working on it though as I play everything else tongue blocked. I chooses not to use over blows as I'm a more traditional player. What I do though is practice them so that if I ever want/need them, the technique is there to utilise them.

I posted this in another thread 3/4 years ago:
There was a time where I was working a lot on tongue-blocked overblows (also the 1o with the tongue on the right side of my mouth), because Dennis Gruenling was doing it all the time and I transcribed many solos of him (even some with chromatic). I tongue blocked everything, but then I switched back to more puckering. Tongue-blocked overblows are really not as save to play as puckered ones. Especially live on stage you can even hear Dennis overblows sometimes a bit scratchy. There is kind of a risk if you don't have a well-setup harp. In some situations it's useful.
There has been a discussion in a german harmonica forum where I uploaded these examples: http://www.box.net/shared/xyxopte0bk (D Harp with extreme OB Bends and Vibrato TB) http://www.box.net/shared/5r45ek45bv (Ab harp TB) http://www.box.net/shared/su4si07zy3 (Ab Harp TB) http://www.box.net/shared/79ekceg9mr (puckered) http://www.box.net/shared/e0rvftlolg (TB)
I hope that was helpful! I actually do them 90% puckered.
Greetings Konstantin
