I have been buying amps ever since I picked up a Lee Oskar some dozen years ago, but my latest will be my last! Several years ago I played through a rare Masco combo with a 12" speaker and ever since I've been on the look out. When Professor Gussow described his search for the smaller 8" model I followed with anticipation. After he found one and declared it a winner I decided I had to find my holy grail amp. Well I scored! A local pawn shop here in Philly told me about an old guy who had one. This old fella told me he won it in a poker game some years back! It's a beater, lots of mojo though. Sounds terrific but some evidence of neglect so I'll likely ship it off to the Masco guru, Skip Simmons, if I can stop playing through it! Mine is the 12" version, the MU-17. Although it looks pretty bad I still had to pay over 700.00 for it, but I think Adam posted that he paid more and, well, if you want tone, I guess you have to pay!
