Greetings Gents! Here's something to drool over. MP gave me the idea to use paint bucket grid for a back cage guard. The chassis protrudes a little too much and the silver can kept worrying me it would be damaged during set up and break downs. The Eucalyptus cab has 2X12 8 ohm rola's smooth cones. The Admiral console mono amp output reading was thankfully about 4.5 or 5 ohms. So I can use both 8 or 16 wired in parallel. Frankly, the difference was huge. Not sure why. 16 ohm speakers are better. I was lucky to find a pair of smooth cones, too. I paid about $35, total 55 and some change for shipping. can't beat Ebay for deals...eh? I also consider myself very lucky to be able to find the time to do these kinds of things for myself and others, who appreciate them. I call it the Admiral Tweed Lunchbox. I grabbed the Admiral (2)EL84, (1)12AX7, (1)5Y3, and (1)6av6, off Ebay years ago. And used it in other single speaker cab set ups. I never tried it with a 2X12 cab, yet. Happily I found it to be unbelievable. The 2X10 red and yellow cab was good. But lacked enough bottom for my tastes. Another project by Ellis Bourbonnais. I told him to make it as small as possible. He did good.

After my friend and I finished the eucalyptus cab my buddy Romeo used it to get up on his perch one day and presto! the sacratch on the back cedar piece...boo hoo!
I'm gonna use it today for a gig. I tried at home first. Just to make sure...nothin worse than gear malfunction.
Why is it that we all just can't get along?<
