I hereby reveal my abysmal ignorance.
I'm certain every one of you here knows exactly what "TFGKS" means.
I read it in one of Joe Filisko's harmonica instructional publications - see http://www.filiskostore.com/page/421719578.
Speaking about playing with a band he says, "When given the opportunity to call out a song and lead, ALWAYS be prepared to take charge, describe the TFGKS, and front them for a song or more if you are asked."
Key, tempo, groove, - whatever do the letters stand for?
I'm so sorry, Sister Benedict, please, please don't slap me again!

The Irish abide. Thank you.
Would it be asking too much for an example of what the bandies might expect to hear?

"This is a medium tempo regular 12 bar blues ,there's not a quick 4. Shuffle groove in the key of G, and we'll come in from the 5"
