A prime example of what gives harmonica and harp players a bad rap. He is not in the least accomplished on the harp - but it doesn't stop him from 'emoting' at full rock volume. Honkin and wailing away.

My second rock concert was seeing these guys - who I loved at the time, with Canned Heat opening for them. Now they (Canned Heat) had someone who could actually play -Alan Wilson.

BUT...although the rock genre is replete with examples of less-than-stellar harp playing, people just like the sound of a harmonica. This is one reason why the trombone and I parted ways. If the best trombone player in the world came to a party and played, people would say it sounded "okay." Meanwhile, if you know three chords on a guitar, you're the hit of the party.
