Just finished Big River last week at the University of the Arts. The band was top shelf.
The pianist and conductor Linda Henderson is faculty there.
Craig Thomas the bass player has played and recorded with Jimmy Bruno and toured with jazz legend Pat Martino. Alan Slutsky play banjo, guitar and mandolin and just finished a run with the Scottsboro Boys. Arty the violinist studied at Julliard and the Universtiy of the Arts.
Arty is smokin' you'll see from the video.
Harvey Price percussionist has Master Degree from Temple University Esther Boyer College of Music and is on Faculty at the University of Delaware.
And me playing Harmonicas. I Had to get my Bass out for this one.
The shows star was Forrest McClendon was nominated for a Tony Award for Scottsboro Boys. The students did a great job and was greatly impressed with their talent.

There is no video since all recording was prohibited.
Here is Arty with his own band. Imagine have solo after this guy. Oh yeah I did Big River with Arty 20 years ago at the Walnut St. Theatre.

My kind of stuff! Do they tour? Looks like they'd be a lot of fun with an audience.

As far as I know Arty has just resurrected playing in band situations again. You could see him here and next week he'd be playing in Atlantic City in the orchestra.
