I was wondering about the event this weeekend in tulsa, where its located and I heard it 15$ ? Does that get you in the door, and to the classes and show? I came up with 15$ bucks and gas but thats about it,and thought this would be a great thing to attend, but its about 50 miles one way and was wondering if 15$ would get me by ,thanks

The Tulsa Harmonica Summit 2012 is almost here. Please join the Route 66 Harmonica Club on Saturday, Feb. 25th at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. 1st St, Tulsa, OK for a full day of activities, workshops and performances in celebration of the humble harmonica!! Featured artists include RJ Mischo, Adam Gussow, Ronnie Shellist, Todd Parrot, Jimmy “Junior” Markham, Dennis Oellig and a host of Tulsa’s finest musicians. There will be free harmonicas and lessons for kids starting at noon, followed by workshops by the featured artists throughout the day. The main showcase event begins at 8 pm. Admission price is $15 for the day. For more information and a detailed schedule, go to http://www.route66harmonicaclub.com/News.html or http://www.crossroadslearning.org/harpsummit2012.html . Also check out the latest info on the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame’s website http://www.okjazz.org/index.cfm?id=7&initNewsID=37 . Hope to see many friends on Saturday for this fun event!
I have a house in Norman I need to take care of (I need a renter) and would drive up to this event if I was there, but instead I have to do my gig in San Diego at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Old Town, I am there all day on Sunday--
It looks to me like $15 gets you the keys to the kingdom and maybe a free harmonica if you can convince them you are "just a kid" hehehe

It's in the old Union Depot building on the north side of downtown if that helps...
I also believe the 15 bucks is for the whole thing. I envy you. It looks like a great day.

Hey Hobostubs, I didn't know you were there. That was awesome wasn't it? I'm glad you made it. I got to talk with Adam, Ronnie, Todd and Mr. Microphone quite a bit. They were all so cool and helpfull. I was the one that kept asking questions about tube, replacing tubes and stuff like that in Mr Mic's class. I play through a Valco so that was really cool to hear all the different amps and effects. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/#!/mudflapnicholsandthetwistedspokes

cool I was the one that mentioned the tube swap for my super champ XD in that class, for a dual purpose amp,And he said I should just feel it out for awhile, cause its a new amp and it might not need to have the tubes switched,Yea It was all right,If your the type that loves harmonca talk,Blues music and some BBQ,;-) It was great and well worth it.Cant wait till next year ---------- Hobostubs

everybody was great there,But I found myself really impressed with the house band,So tight and they was able to play to variuos harp players just like they had been doing it for awhile,And the guitar player playing acompament in the open mic area,He played so nice, very tight just right in there not flashy but had a cool flow going,Ive been trying to relearn my basics with blues guitar here latly sence I got a rig going again,Those backup musicians were really professional sounding,That would be a cool skill to be able to do. ---------- Hobostubs

Yea they are true pro's. that group is known as the bluehemians and Jimmy Junior Markham the older gentelman that opened the show and closed it is their front man. He is a legend in Tulsa. And a cool guy too, he invited me to get up and play in the early part when the local guys were playing but I turned him down because I haven't been to a club meeting all year and that time is for the members to show their chops. The guy playing rhythm was Bobby Greenshoes Parker. If you join the harp club he comes and plays guitar for the jam session at the end of the meeting, cool guy. I hope to start back to the meetings in March, but the band Im in practices on Tue and Thur and the meetings are always on tuesday. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/#!/mudflapnicholsandthetwistedspokes
