Is there a tonal advantage to using a Sennheiser e906 mic through the PA rather than the line out of the HG2?

Thanks.

I've used the line out on my Double Trouble a few times. Never had a problem with it. It sounded as good as what was coming out of the amps speaker.

Well if you use a mic in front of the amp, you get the true speaker sound and all of it's nuances. However you also open yourself up to possible bleed over from other instruments. Using a line out is cleaner as you get no bleed over. I wouldn't like to say that one is better than the other. From experience most musicians seem to prefer to mic an amp, whilst most sound men seem to prefer a line out. I'd try both ways and see which you prefer. Or maybe you'll find that mixing the two is better. It's all a matter of personal taste really.

Ditto what Kingley said, but the soundmen I've encountered were just the opposite. They preferred to mic the cab and not use the line out.
